Musical Studio - Free, Simple Mixing App

Even for a free music mixing app, Musical Studio is very basic. Layering is difficult and the functions are tricky to control. It's fun to play around with, but you might want to look elsewhere.

What does Musical Studio do?

You can use Musical Studio to make basic tunes and beats, using coloured blocks as the notes. However, it is not a very well-designed mixing tool, as it is hard to layer and control sounds. It's described as being simple to use, but in reality the sliders are not very responsive and the functions not intuitive. Linking colours and sounds in the way this app does is a neat idea, but it does not actually work all that well.

Is it worth getting Musical Studio?

For simple tune-creation, Musical Studio is a basic free option. It can be fun to play around with for a while. The idea of linking colours and sounds is a good one. However, Music Studio is very limited in its functionality and not all that easy to use. Anybody wanting to actually create a layered tune will find themselves frustrated.
